NDP TOUR ON RAILWAY SAFETY STOPPING IN MONTREAL
November 7th, 2013 - 2:47pm
MONTREAL— The NDP tour on railway safety will be passing through Montreal on November 9, 2013. For the occasion, MP Hélène Laverdière (Laurier—Ste-Marie) and Official Opposition deputy Transport critic, Hoang Mai, will be meeting with citizens residing near the railways in the Mile-End.
"The Lac-Mégantic tragedy has raised many questions among citizens, particularly among those who live near the railway tracks," said MP Hélène Laverdière. "This meeting will give us a chance to respond to questions, to clarify several aspects concerning railway safety and to explain why the Conservative government must shoulder its responsibilities to ensure the safety of the population."
